USA – South Atlantic (Florida & Georgia)

We flew down to Daytona to pick up our new home on wheels (a compact Class B Roadtrek 190 camper van) from Quality RV Sales in Melbourne. It was such a hassle free and pleasant experience purchasing the vehicle online and the RV was in even better condition than we could have hoped for. What a great start to our road trip! We had initially considered buying a van and modifying it ourselves, but our Roadtrek came fully equipped with a king sized bed, refrigerator, microwave, 2 burner recessed stove, tv, shower/toilet, and tons of storage. This meant we could start our road trip immediately, rather than waste precious time trying to build our own…no brainer! We did have to spend a bit of time in Florida getting our van ready for our expedition, but we did manage to do a bit of sightseeing around Florida: Ponce Inlet (fabulous lighthouse), St Augustine (oldest continuously inhabited European settlement within the continental United States), Crystal River (swim with manatees), and Pensacola (Blue Angels and the Naval Aviation Museum). Additionally, we popped up to Georgia for a family reunion where Robby got to spend time with some folks he hasn’t seen since he was a child! It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks preparing to explore the States. Stay tuned as we get ready to head out west!

Meet our new home for the next 6 months!
