We had a wonderful time visiting Pakistan in July. We met some of the most friendly and hospitable people ever. Pakistan's Northern Areas are quite rugged and challenging, but it was well worth it to experience travel in an area that most westerners know very little about, except what is skewed by the media. Pakistan rocks! Check out our latest pics and stories...its an amazing country that definitely warrants a visit.

Since our return home, work has kept the both of us pretty busy. So, it has been a slow process getting the website updated.

We are getting really excited about our upcoming trip to Ecuador in December. This will be our first visit to South America. We plan to ring in the new year partying in the streets with friends and family.

Extended Travel

Morocco to Egypt - "The Grand TransAfrica Expedition". We plan to spend close to a year visiting the following countries: -Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, DRC, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, & Egypt

Beijing to Cairo Extravaganza. Countries to visit will include:
-China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, & Egypt

Language Study

Spend at least a year living and studying in:

Cairo, Egypt: We love the Middle East. Yemen’s arabic language centers lured us, but after careful consideration, we decided that Cairo would allow us better flexibility and opportunities to travel (Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, etc) as well as quick getaways to the Red Sea for some scuba diving.

Beijing, China: Asia fascinates us. We have longed to dream in Chinese and figure that intensive studies in Beijing should help us reach that goal.

Saigon, Vietnam: We adore Vietnam and its people. Becky is definitely biased when she claims it’s her favorite Asian country (she is half-Vietnamese!). But we cannot wait to live and study here for a year. Once we gain a basic conversational level, we plan to work with disadvantaged teenagers and Agent Orange victims at the An Binh Shelter. Cuenca, Ecuador: What a gorgeous city to base ourselves! We plan to become fluent in Spanish and backpack for at least 2 years around Central and South America. Who knows…maybe your paths will cross with these gringos along some remote trail one of these days.
