We’ve just returned from a busy 14 night Asian cruise with the Costa Victoria, embarking from Singapore. A few of Becky’s Vietnamese relatives were able to join us so that was a lot of fun (think of herding cats, ha). Thankfully, none of our group had to worry about obtaining visas for the itinerary which included a few extra days pre-cruise to explore Singapore, followed by ports of call in Malaysia’s Langkawi, Penang/Georgetown, Port Klang (gateway to Kuala Lumpur), Malacca, and Thailand’s Pattaya & Kho Samui. We weren’t sure what to expect with Costa cruiseline but were pleasantly surprised given the negative reviews on cruisecritic. For us, it was a nice escape for a few weeks before heading back to the impending winter about to descend on us here in mountainbound Kabul. Our next escape will be a trip to Texas in the spring to take care of some business followed by a repositioning cruise from Miami – Los Angeles via the Panama Canal…can’t wait!
