Texas in the Spring! We stopped by briefly to see family in San Antonio before hopping over to Miami to board our cruise through the Panama Canal to Los Angeles. Good times. Texas weather was chillier than expected, Miami’s art deco district was a treat, and our cruise was a blast. Who knew we could find so many things to keep us occupied on our many sea days? From basketball to shuffleboard, swimming, hot tubbing, dancing and drinking, we managed to while our time away. Our ports of call were quite interesting, with Cartagena winning hands down as our favorite. Our time in Costa Rica was too short but we will rectify that on our future Alaska – Panama road trip. The Mexican ports of call did not disappoint, and before we knew it, we were disembarking at Los Angeles for the long flight home. Our next escape will be to Tajikistan, where we hope to check out the scenery in the northern part of this under-touristed destination.
